reverse movie reviews #4

I think you kids will like this one. Same drill as usual... what is the story about/ would you see this movie/ whats good about the trailer and whats bad?

As for the last film review, great comments! I put these films up here as a great way to get these film teams a little feedback as most of our film reviews are indie films and they can't afford focus grouping.  So even harsh critical analyses is useful information.  That being said, if you know an indie filmmaker who would like his or her film trailer commented on, send them my way.

I have seen this one before. It's pretty good. Very indie with a different feel to it. Worth checking out if for nothing more than the fact that Keanu Reeves is in it.

Yeah I would watch this one. It's awkward and quirky the way I like them. I would guess it is about a boy with ADHD that learns to focus with the help of his dentist who happens to be Keanu Reaves.

Well let's start.
I believe the protagonist of this movie is a 16 year old highschool student that is living with his single mother. He seems to have quite a few problems in school and might be behaving weird since the trailer shows three different ways of influencing him (the thumb talk, the hypnosis and the 'pill').
The last shown option being a medication seems to be the perfect choice as he develops to a grade A student, starts wearing ties, has a decent haircut aso.
He likes a girl (I didn't catch her name) and might be phantasizing about her in class so that the teacher tells him to this some place else.
His teacher starts to date his mom and simultaneously acts as a father figure. I have no clue how the last few scenes of the trailer are fitting into the story, but as all movies usually go along the same way, everything will seem perfect and people start to like him in school and then he starts doing drugs, getting involved with girls and ends up going crazy again (the kitchen scene when smashing the juice container). The title Thumbsucker makes you think of a little kid that is not able to live on its own and needs a person to look up to.
I would watch this movie as I like that actor who plays the father and some other man who is his orthodontist or so I think I know from American Beauty or some similar movie.
I would watch that movie as it seems to be more 'challenging' for the viewer than the typical movies running in tv etc.
I like the trailer as it shows the development of the protagonist of starting from a person that seems to be invisible for everybody else to a respected and successful student and friend. I also like the mix of story telling and the glance you get at the humor that is inside this movie.

That is it from me and thank you for sharing the trailer with us!

Yeah, pretty decent movie. Even though it feels like its trying to be Indie.
